Stolen Meme

I've gone to stealing memes from other people. I took this one from George. Here are the nitty gritty details of this meme that I stole.

Here are the rules:
A) The rules of the game get posted at the beginning.
B) Each player answers the questions about himself or herself.
C) At the end of the post, the player then tags five people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know they’ve been tagged and asking them to read your blog.

1) Ten years ago I was...

Stressing about my Complex Variables class, wondering whether I would get to graduate. To add to that stress, I was also finalizing the craziness on my fast-approaching wedding. Why I ever think I'm stressed now, I just don't know.

2) Five things on today's to-do list:

Get a customer's import working once and for all (it's been marginally working for several years)
Clean both bathrooms in preparation for being out of town next week
Change the utilities over to our names from the previous owner
Clean up the kitchen
Run a 5k

3) Things I'd do if I were a billionaire:

Reduce my job to part-time (I still have to do something with my brain to keep from going insane!)
Pay the house down significantly
Buy a Tesla Roadster
Find groups that are doing good alternative energy research, and donate time and money
Go back to school for a completely different career

4) Three bad habits:

Only three?!?!?!?

Biting my nails
Getting down on myself
Leaving the dirty dishes for the next morning

5) Five places I've lived:

Only five?!?!?!?!?

Hong Kong; Barrio Magsaysay, The Philippines; Ames, Iowa; Austin, Texas; Fort Wayne, Indiana

(I have quite a few more, but these are the ones you get.)

6) Six jobs I've had in my life:

Nursery worker, waitperson, summer camp counselor, tech support manager, math department grader, customer service representative.

I have more of those, like the one I have now, but hey, the meme only asks for six. Meanwhile, I tag James, Monica, Stephanie. I also think Cat and Rosa should do this, and even though I don't have a blog to link to, y'all can do this in the comments. Shouldn't take too long!

Thanks for playing. You doing it when it wasn't assigned kind of balances out the 3 folks I asked who haven't done it. Yet.

Stephanie said...

done. thanks for the break from work today.

Rosa said...

hmm... well I'm happy to participate, but I'm not sure how I will tag others. Maybe I'll just make an effort to engage 5 people about this in real like!

1) Ten years ago I was...

wresling with whether to go back to school for an MBA or not. I did, but hated the thought of going back. I finished and really enjoyed it but would not go back again!

2) Five things on today's to-do list:

clean the pile of dishes that has been sitting for a week before my husband get back from his business trip
finish (ok, start) the presentations for the user conference that were due last week
pin customer down on a calcutation so we can stop trying to match a moving target
call heather
call kathryn

3) things I would do if I was a billionaire:
well, I dont think it would take billions... I'd be happy with mere millions!

buy the house down the block and move my parents in
completely remodel our house
take 3 months off work to travel then come back part time
get liposuction (aweful I know - fortunately, I dont think I have to worry about it!)
help my sister start a catering business in austin

4) Three bad habits
procrastination (see to-do list)
nail bitting :S

5) Five places I've lived:
Nuevo Lardo, Mexico
Laredo, Tx
Schaumburg, IL
Crystal Lake, IL
Austin, TX
(except for a temporary situation in Chicago that is actually all of it!)

6) Six jobs I've had in my life:
retail - cashier then customer service
Admin office clerk - mostly filing and stuffing envelopes
PreK teacher - temporary job that quickly helped me identify I did not want to teach!
Book keeper - for the family business much more stressful that I would have though but the trigger that sent me back to school and where I am today :)
Consultant - trained sales and marketing folks making only a tiny portion of what I billed

Really intersting exercise! I also realize I don't know this for may people very close to me. So I will be asking:
One person from work...yet to be determined
Kathryn (tying in very nicely with the call I should be making today!)

Thanks for all the fun!
